2012 Adult Writing Workshop: Memoir as Good Reading -
with Kevin McCarthy, Ph.D.
Who would be interested in my memories? What is the difference between memoir and autobiography? What makes a good structure for a memoir? How can I trigger memories? What role does genealogy play? Where should I go for supplemental facts?
Dr. Kevin McCarthy will answer these and other questions in a three-hour, one-day intensive workshop, “Memoir Writing: how to do it, how to produce it, and what to emphasize.” This is an opportunity to finally turn that diary into a publishable piece or readable family record.
Dr. McCarthy, professor emeritus at the University of Florida, has published 51 books, scores of articles, and has taught writing workshops around the world.
